A SKIT BASED ON THE LIFE STORY OF MAHATMA GANDHI
DATE: 13th SEPTEMBER, 2018
VENUE: SCHOOL AUDITORIUM
D.A.V. Sr. Sec. Public School, Khadia organized a skit on the life story of Mahatma Gandhi on 13th September, 2018 in the school auditorium in which about fourteen students from class III to VIII, IX and XI enthusiastically participated and performed their best.
The skit began with the musical aroma of ‘Ram Dhun’ from the background. The first scene depicted the childhood days of Mohandas Karam Chand Gandhi when he was scared of sheer darkness and his mother advised him to utter the name of Lord Rama to get rid of his fear. This incident instilled his profound faith in Lord Rama.
The second scene displayed how Gandhiji learnt the value of truthfulness from the play ‘Satyavadi Harishchandra’ he had watched in his childhood. The third scene conveyed Gandhiji’s message to keep oneself away from the vices by displaying his three proverbial monkeys “SEE NO EVIL”, “HEAR NO EVIL”, and “SPEAK NO EVIL”.
The last scene showed the incident when Gandhji was in South Africa and despite having the ticket of the first class he was not allowed to travel in that compartment and was thrown off the train. This incident motivated Gandhiji to fight for Indian’s Rights in the British Colony and he raised his voice against slavery and discrimination.
Hon’ble Principal, Sri Ashok Mathur appreciated the participants for their remarkable presentation and encouraged all the students to learn human values from the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi to be a role model for the society and the world.
