Commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti & Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti
On the occasion of 3rd National Festival, 2nd October 2019 DAV Public School, Khadia celebrated 150th Birth Anniversary of the Father of our Nation-Mahatma Gandhi. The celebration also marked the commemoration of our 2nd Prime minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri’s Birth Anniversary.
It was celebrated by all the students with a great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism. The festivity began at 7:30 AM with flag hoisting followed by national anthem and raising of slogans. The assembly of the students were addressed by the motivational and encouraging words of hon’ble Principal Madam. The highlights were the inclination to follow even a part of their teachings step by step if not possible to follow everything at a stretch. The students were motivated to do service to the nation and society by following the doctrines of non-violence, cooperation, truthfulness, cleanliness and belief in self-reliance.
The cultural programme started at 8:00 AM with the lighting of the lamp and garlanding Gandhi ji & Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji to pay special tribute to these legends. A skit on Gandhiji’s life comprising of some important events of his life was staged by class X to XII students. The glimpses of Gandhiji’s life gave a strong message to overcome human weaknesses and live a truthful life. A short speech on Mahatma Gandhi by Priya Kushwaha -Class XI and short talk on Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri was delivered by Pratyasha- Class VII before the students. Various cultural programmes and “Swachchhata hi Sewa Hai” related prizes were distributed to the position holders by the Principal Madam.
The anecdotes from Gandhiji & Shastriji’s life during the programme were a great source of inspiration to all. The day further holds the schedule of a rally in the wake of cleanliness and visit to painting exhibition on the topic “Swachchhata hi Sewa Hai” abhiyaan, to aware the society for cleanliness.
The display of the film ‘Yado me Shastri Ji’ and cleanliness Swachchhata Activities has been planned to sensitize everyone to introspect and bring out their best contribution in the service of mankind.
